Charlotte Champagne

Hello My Name Is...

Charlotte Champagne

Born and raised in Southeast Texas, I graduated from Vidor High School in 1985.  I sought higher education at Lamar University, Beaumont, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 1993.  In 1996, I obtained my Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Health Care from the University of Houston.  I had a rewarding career in medical social work for 17 years, then sought the opportunity to work with children in an educational capacity.  I pursued my certificate to teach through the Region 5 Education Service Center’s Teacher Certification Program (TCP), and began teaching at Jasper ISD in resource math.  I started working at Woodville Middle School at the beginning of the 2012-2013 teaching Art Appreciation and Inclusion/Resource Math in the Math Department.  I have a love for children and my heart goes out to those who struggle in school and for whom learning doesn't come easily.  I am honored to have a chance to impact the lives of this year's 7th grade class.  These children are our FUTURE!

Beginning in the 2014-2015 school year, I will be teaching 7th Grade Math in room 19.  My  classroom is student-centered and I try a number of different methods to reach and teach children.  Students will be using hands-on actvities to understand and develop math concepts.  We will utilize digital resources and technology to learn and students will work to develop 21st century skills that will improve their ability to be successful  in school, work, and life.

Personally, my husband and I have three adult children and one child at home who attends WMS, plus two grandchildren in Woodville ISD.  We spend our free time camping in our RV, fishing and boating on Lake Sam Rayburn, and deer hunting.  I also enjoy cooking and reading.
